Journey of Faith - "RCIA" for KIDS

For older students receiving Sacraments after the years of Restored Order.



"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 28:19 

Journey of Faith is a program to assist children, between the ages of 8 and 17, who for one reason or another did not celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation in the 2nd grade or the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist in the 3rd grade.

During this process, the children will receive a better understanding of what it means to know, love and serve God. The children will have a better understanding of what sin means and learn how to live their lives according to God's commandments. They will learn what it means to be Catholic; how to develop their relationship with God; and to identify themselves as children of God. The importance of attending weekly Mass will be stressed. Learning how to use the Bible; reading Old and New Testament stories; and learning the parts of the Mass will be covered in their lessons. Parents and/or caregivers are encouraged to attend with their children.

Each child will need to choose a Godparent/Sponsor, who will support them in his/her Catholic journey. The sponsor must be a baptized, confirmed Catholic and at least 18 year of age. The children in the RCIC process will join the adults in the RCIA at the Easter Vigil, where they will be Baptized.
