Welcome to our Catholic Christian Family, child of God!

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit ..., and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." - Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), 1213

    • Baptismal Preparation (Infants & Children)

Congratulations on the birth of your child! What a great joy and gift from God!

Our parish community rejoices with you on this special occasion, and look forward to welcoming your child into the Catholic Church. Our Catholic faith tells us that in Baptism we are incorporated into the community of Christian believers – the mystical Body of Christ. And so, we look forward to providing you and your child that opportunity. The Sacrament of Baptism is the first sacrament which begins initiation into the Christian community.

If you are interested in having your child baptized at St. Michael or St. Mary Church, please contact Deacon Eric Lambert to schedule a preparation session and to discuss possible dates for baptism. You can reach him by email: deacon@stmnh.org or by phone: 603-772-2494. He will be happy to work with you toward this beautiful sacrament for your child.

      INFORMATION TO KEEP IN MIND:
A godparent must be a confirmed, practicing Catholic and at least 16 years of age.
You may have one or two godparents, if you have two; they must be one male and one female. For complete information on godparent selection please see the document in the left sidebar.

The sacrament of Baptism is offered most Sundays throughout the year (except during the Lenten season.) Baptisms should be scheduled at least 2 months in advance. Baptisms may be celebrated during a Sunday Mass or following the last Mass on Sunday.

Please note: Once the ceremony has occurred and the names recorded, no change can be made to the baptismal record.

Please feel free to contact Deacon Eric Lambert should you have any questions.
Again - Congratulations and Welcome to our Catholic Family!
    • Baptismal Preparation (Adults)

Greetings to you, sister or brother in Christ, and welcome...

Baptism of adults is provided via the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The rite focuses on conversion to Christ through the discovery of, and encounter with, the real presence of Jesus Christ in our lives. The RCIA program assists the candidates for baptism in making that discovery. Through the rite, adults are incorporated into the body of Christ provided teaching on the Catholic faith to enable candidates to live an authentic Christian life.

RCIA prepares adults (both unbaptized and already baptized) for full initiation into the Catholic Church and Faith.

To enroll or learn more, please contact Brian Harrison via programdirector@stmnh.org and visit the RCIA page.
